Message from the President

We, the Inland Empire Senate, welcome you to the 2011/2012 season of The National Bowling Association (TNBA). TNBA is the oldest bowling association and one of the greatest sports organizations in the world today.  The Inland Empire Senate represents TNBA in the Inland Empire/Moreno Valley area, and share the same values exemplified by  TNBA; the principles of Sportsmanship, Fellowship and Friendship.  We love the game of ten pins, but we also believe in giving back to our community.  We believe in providing guidance and support to our youth.  We support junior bowler programs, and initiate TNBA sponsored junior programs that allow our junior bowlers to receive awards and participate in regional (and national) TNBA youth tournaments.  We are also committed to our scholarship program.  We offer book grants and monetary awards annually to graduating high school seniors looking to start off their college endeavors.

We are now well into our bowling season and it continues to be exciting.  TNBA’s Western Regional Tournament held in Phoenix, Arizona was a success, our Battle of the Sexes Tournament was fun and exciting and our Tri-Senate tournaments held San Diego and Palmdale  were full, fun, and many dollars were made!!! The Regional Rhodman tournament held in Las Vegas larger than before.  It was exciting, high scores were rolled and money was made.   Coming up in April is our special Tri-senate 5-squad tournament in Los Angeles ($10,000 1st place prize), our Inland Empire Tri-senate tournament and our local city tournament.  TNBA’s National Convention, Tournament and TNBA Week will be held the last two weeks of May in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Don't miss that one -- ten days of bowling, fellowship and TNBA Week activities.   These tournaments may be found on our Tournament’s Page.  If you want to submit a team to any of these tournaments, or need additional information, contact your tournament coordinator or contact Tracy Smith at iecommdir@yahoo.com or 909 986-6165.

On our website, you can find a high score application.  To receive a high score award you must inform our office whenever you roll a high score and you don't have to be a high score bowler, you can be a low average bowler and still receive an low average award.  Because there is a short window in which to submit these applications, timing is of the utmost importance.  Note that in order to receive a high score award, that score must be rolled in a TNBA certified league or tournament.  Contact your league secretary to ensure it is TNBA certified, or give senate secretary Shirley Smith a click or call (at sesmith_00@yahoo.com or 909 985-9055) to see how easy it is to certify the league yourself. It’s very easy and only cost $5.00 (per league, not per person!!!)  High score applications should be sent to a senate official.  In most cases, a simple email or phone call (909) 985-9055, to Shirley is all it takes to get the ball rolling.

Thanks for your support of TNBA.  Thanks for visiting our website.  Tell a friend about us.  Even if they are not bowlers, they may still join.  We have several non-bowling members who help support our junior programs, participate in the administration and operation of our tournaments and just help our organization run smoother.  Thanks again, we’ll see you on the lanes.

Rob McDaniel
IES President
